The Job

For our Client, a leader in packaging and paper, we are looking for the position of HR Director. Position purpose: Act as a strategic business partner to the plant leadership and provide support to the employees; Provide and develop the talent and culture for the plant as well as have a primary accountability for the overall success, effectiveness, and efficiency of the plant Human Resources department; Support key stakeholders to improve organizational capability, drive change, define organizational needs, and resolve union and employee issues; Manage Labour Relations at the plant and to partner with HR Director Poland and corporate HR on strategy.

Key resonsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment of HR processes with overall HR strategic and operating goals
  • Prepare the annual HR Budget and follow up throughout the year
  • Counsel, advise and train management on performance-based issues and facilitate any formal or informal complaints to resolution
  • Provide employee relations counseling and problem solving for managers and employees to ensure a productive work environment, remaining consistent with company values and policies, and ensuring legal compliance
  • Be responsible for the whole employee lifecycle

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of Human Resources experience in managerial positions in an international environment
  • 3-5 years of Labour Relations experience including union negotiations and handling difficult union relationships
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success in translating business strategies into organizational and HR strategies and action
  • Dynamic, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to lead others
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance / align mill interests with corporate requirements
